Rome City is located in Oneida County, Upstate New York. It is part of the Utica-Rome Metropolitan Statistical Area, within the “Leatherstocking Country”, as made famous by James Fenimore Cooper’s Leatherstocing Tales, set before the American Revolutionary War. Rome is in New York’s 22nd Congressional District.
